Vladyslav Zuyevych is a
more than familiar face in the Primetime Evening FA.
The Ukraine international began his career with Ill Skillz, where he spent 4 seasons between season 1 and 4. He played for Tyne and Wear Boys, Alderborough FC, Quashie’s Shooting School and then 3 seasons at Canon Fodder, before finally changing region in season 6 and joining Premier League heavyweights
FrootLoops FC where he has been an integral part of the teams evolution into one of the St John regions top clubs. He is currently out injured for 1 week due to a fractured skull.
UFFA.com caught up with the forward for an exclusive interview.
UFFA.com: Vladyslav, having played in Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, London and now Aberdeen, you have certainly seen and experienced much of what the St John region has to offer. What are your fondest memories thus far?
Vladyslav Zuyevych: I have very good memories from all the clubs I have played for. FrootLoops FC was obviously where I had the most success, but I have been very comfortable with all the clubs I have played for in St John and always given my all for every shirt.
UFFA: Two promoted clubs are certainly creating quite a stir at the moment; T-Bag Town and CFC FC. Are you surprised that these two clubs are able to hold their own with the top teams?
Vladyslav: If you look at how CFC FC have invested and how they operate, it’s no surprise. We’ve already played T-Bag town and I have to say that they do have some good footballers. I’m too far away to comment much on CFC FC, but basically there is always a surprise team or two every season in every league.
UFFA: Having played in both the Primetime Evening and the Xtreme Evening leagues, which is the stronger?
Vladyslav: The Xtreme Evening league is always described as the strongest league in St John. The tempo there is very high and everything goes incredibly quickly there. I think that the PEFA Premier League is also of a very high standard, and I’m very pleased to have been able to play here.
UFFA: You have scored less goals in Unofficial games, whereas you have a far better ratio in domestic Official football. Why have you not been able to carry over this success into the Unofficial arena?
Vladyslav: It’s down to the fact that I often play a deeper role and have to put in a lot of defensive work. Then there is also the different system that we sometimes play, but yes, I definitely need to score more goals in Unofficial games.
UFFA: How is the injury healing?
Vladyslav: I’m feeling alot better, i have some scans later this week but im hoping to return during the mid-season break to ensure the team retain their Premiership place.
UFFA: Back to the PEFA Premier League for one final question. What can the Loops achieve this year, and who do you think will win the league?
Vladyslav: We’ll try to make it into the Gold Cup places, but a lot of clubs who have spent a great deal more money than us have the same idea. There are three or four teams at the top who can do battle for the title. By my reckoning they are Raynes Park Rangers, T-Bag Town, CFC FC and maybe Worcester United
